movie night: ‘Woman at War’ + open discussion / kvikmyndakvöld: ‘Kona fer í stríð’ + opin umræða

Let’s spend a good evening together and (re-)watch the controversial movie ‘Woman at War’ directed by Benedikt Erlingsson.

“Halla is a 50-year-old environmental activist who crusades against the local aluminum industry in Iceland. As her actions grow bolder, her life changes in the blink of an eye when she’s finally granted permission to adopt a girl from the Ukraine.”

it opened a lot of debates when it went out in 2018 so let’s keep the discussion alive, in a friendly way 😉

“to what extent should we fight for a cause?” “is the use of material destruction sometimes needed?” “are there any superior moral laws allowing us to sometimes disobey?”…

the boundaries between violence – non violence will be questioned as well as any other thoughts that may arise.

see you there! 🙂

the screening will be in icelandic, with english subtitles. the talk in english

the comfy room is for 15 people max so register preferably beforehand at osecollective@protonmail.com
